integrate the benefits of nature into your counseling or coaching services
What is walk and talk
It’s pretty much what it sounds like! Instead of sitting in an office or your own home, we stroll through one of Charlotte’s parks or greenways. Combining the elements of nature, exercise, and meaningful counseling or coaching has been shown to have compounding benefits.
Why walk and talk
There is so much research out there about the stress-reducing benefits of being outdoors. Being in nature grounds us, lowering blood pressure and reducing anxiety. Exercise, even gentle walking, can have similar effects. Both of these experiences individually promote the release of our “feel good brain chemicals” (serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine, etc.) and counteract “stress hormones” such as adrenaline and cortisol.
Walk and talk FAQs
-
I don’t offer Walk and Talk to all my clients. Due to the more public and less controlled environment, sometimes its just not the appropriate choice. If you’re curious to know if you qualify, reach out! We can make the decision together.
-
Whatever you feel comfortable in! I do recommend comfortable shoes and clothes, though.
-
I’m glad you asked! (This one is for my counseling clients)
Because we are in a public location, I cannot guarantee privacy or confidentiality. While we can do our best to avoid crowds or walking too close to others, there’s just less control during walk and talk sessions.

Not unless you want to! We can adjust our walks to your level of comfort. You’re in control of pace and how often we stop for sitting/water breaks.
It’s time to find joy again.
I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to counseling and coaching comes from a place of hope and understanding : you are not doomed to feel like this forever. You simply need some support as you learn new ways of achieving your goals.
